The Society is managed through an interim Board, made up of Senior Human Resources professionals and their mandate is to deliver the objectives of the Society and deliver value to the members.
Current Board Members are
Dr. Ghalib Saif Al Hosni is the Vice President of Human Resources Unit. He joined Omantel in 1991. Dr. Ghalib has the responsibility for Omantel’s strategic human resources activities, including workforce development and organization effectiveness, benefits and compensation, HR processes and information management etc. His accomplishments include creating award-winning Human resources processes and successful employee engagement programs. Dr. Ghalib has introduced a series of new HR programs ranging from a VEOS, Job Evaluation to several employee engagement initiatives. Dr. Ghalib holds Doctorate of Management from Webster University, Missouri United States. He serves on the boards of the few other companies in Oman. In 2012, he won the GCC HR Professional Award, followed by the best HR Professional in Private Sector award in 2013.
Mundhir Al Barwani has a career spanning 25 years with PDO. Currently he is Executive Head of one of the Super Local Community Contracting Company (SLCC). Mundhir occupied many roles in PDO including; External Affairs and Communications Manager, Director of Human Resources and an integral member of the Managing Directors’ Committee and finally, External Affairs Director. Mundhir is a civil engineer by background and has broad experience of many facets of the oil and gas industry from Project Engineering, Development new assets and working in diverse teams to achieve success.
Ali is General Manager & Country Head of HR at HSBC Bank Oman. He graduated in Business Administration, Foreign Trade and Investment. Ali has extensive experience and professional qualifications in the field of Human Resources whilst serving tenure with the InterContinental Hotel Group from 1995, wherein he assumed different roles within HR, Learning and Development. He also served as Head for HR for Al Bustan Palace Hotel and Regional Director, Manpower Planning for the Group in Oman. Ali is a founding member of Oman Bankers Association and serves in the Broad of Directors of Oman Society for Human Resources Management.
Mohammed is the Manager of Human Resources and Training at Oman Investment and Finance Company S.A.O.G (OIFC). He holds a Bachelor Degree in Human Resource Management from Massey University from New Zealand and currently he is perusing his MBA from University of Bedfordshire. In New Zealand, he was the President of International Students at Massey University and the President of the Omani Students’ Association for 2 years. Mohammed joined OIFC 5 years ago as Senior Executive- HR then he was promoted to handle the entire Training and Development Section. Recently he was promoted to handle entire HR and Training Section.
Senior Manager Training & Development at Oman Telecommunications company. She is a highly competent, proactive and results-driven Senior L&D Manager, with an in-depth knowledge of HR, Marketing, Sales and Administration. Manal is a trusted advisor on key strategic issues and a history of close working relationships with senior business heads. She has a diverse and extensive experience, ranging from leadership roles in pivotal initiatives to driving learning innovations, underpinned by excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills. Manal is a talented people manager with a proven track record of building, restructuring and mentoring successful teams. Her focus is on aligning individual learning outcomes with overall corporate strategic objectives, in order to improve effectiveness, productivity and profitability across the entire organization.
Master Degree holder in Business Administration from University of Strathclyde, UK with Distiction. More than 20 years of in depth experience in the field of Human Resources in Oman and outside Oman within the Middle East, with international and local institutions and with the most developed industries; Oil & Gas and Banking. Hands on experience with start-up businesses, takeovers, and complete re-formation and re-structuring. Currently working for Bank Nizwa as DGM – Human Resources
Majid Al Rawahi is the Head of Learning and Development at Oman Airports Management Company (OAMC) and an OSHRM founder in 2010. Majid has experience in the Human Resources field spans different industries including Infrastructure, Oil & Gas and airports. Majid has Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce and Economics from Sultan Qaboos University and Masters of Business Administration from Franklin University, United States.
Majid also certified in Change Management through APMG, certified in People Practices through CIPD, a Learning & Development Practitioner, HRM practitionerand certified in Action Learning through WIAL
